One-component polyurethane adhesive foam documented for EPS, XPS, polyurethane insulation panels and building substrates including aluminium and steel.

This is polyurethane adhesive, so everything true of that chemistry applies here too.

What it bonds

Where the manufacturer names a material, we quote them. Where we have assessed it ourselves, we say so and grade it lower. The two are never merged.

MaterialBasisManufacturer wording
Aluminium Listed by the manufacturer A ““Bonds many other building materials such as ... aluminium ... steel”” Abrade first
EPS (polystyrene foam) Listed by the manufacturer A ““Suitable for bonding polystyrene (EPS + XPS)””
XPS foam board Listed by the manufacturer A ““Suitable for bonding polystyrene (EPS + XPS)”” Abrade first
Polyurethane foam Implied by the manufacturer A ““Insulation panels - polyurethane, phenol, resin foam””

Preparation

Surfaces must be clean and free of grease and dust. Roughen smooth XPS/remove the top skin as directed in Soudal’s perimeter-insulation guide. Test coated and unusual metals.

Limitations

Water resistant but not watertight; cured foam is not UV resistant. This is not a structural load-bearing adhesive and must not be represented as a direct test of every metal finish.

Safety

Pressurised polyurethane aerosol product; follow the current label and SDS, provide ventilation and use the specified PPE.
