About The Adhesive Library

A UK reference for one specific question: what actually bonds material A to material B, under the conditions the job will really face.

Why it exists

Most adhesive advice online is either a shop trying to sell you something, or a forum thread where three people disagree. Manufacturer datasheets have the real answers, but they are written for engineers, buried as PDFs, and phrased carefully enough that it is easy to read a promise into them that is not there.

This site reads those datasheets, records what they actually say, and turns it into an answer you can use without a materials science degree.

How it is built

Underneath the pages is a structured database of materials, adhesive chemistries, commercial products, conditions and the evidence linking them. The pages are outputs of that database, not the other way round. That is what lets us say how confident we are about any given claim, and what stops a page quietly going stale after the datasheet behind it is revised.

What we will not do

Getting it wrong

If something here is wrong, we would rather know. There is a contact page, and a correction backed by a datasheet will be acted on.
