3M 3M Hi-Tack 76 Spray Adhesive

Synthetic-elastomer aerosol adhesive whose EU TDS lists cork-to-metal bonding.

This is spray adhesive, so everything true of that chemistry applies here too.

What it bonds

Where the manufacturer names a material, we quote them. Where we have assessed it ourselves, we say so and grade it lower. The two are never merged.

Cast iron Our assessment: suitable with care C The source names metal generally; cast iron and its oil/rust condition are not specifically validated. Abrade first

Preparation

Remove oil, rust, dust, and loose particles; confirm compatibility with any cork finish.

Limitations

No manufacturer statement about water, moisture or weathering exists in the EU TDS or on the 3M UK product page, so the product carries no water-resistance rating here. 3M also notes it is not designed for certain automotive applications, including electric powertrain batteries and high-voltage uses, without IATF certification.
